Galletta's Kart Club 2008 Volume #8 DVD:

This disc contains the Galletta's Independence Day 50 that was held on July 6th, 2008 at Galletta's Kartway, and one of two camera angles of the July 10th, 2008 event at Oswego Kartway (this includes all karting divisions - WKA flat kart classes; Champ karts; and Gas Stocker classes). 2 hours, 20 minutes. It also includes a bonus second camera angle of the complete Oswego Kartway show from Thursday, July 10th, 2008, which feature all the karting classes (other angle is on Volume #8). Disc has two camera angles and all karting classes. (We missed the 7/17/2008 show due to not enough drivers and a lack of interested DVD buyers). The July 10th, 2008 event saw your favorite webmaster/driver/artist/florist win, Chris "Chrusher" Stevens in the Galletta's #8 kart! Congrats to myself! Matt did barely get me in the heat though. This race also marked the return of the Lindsley father-&-son duo. Although every karting class is also recorded on the DVD (including WKA flat karts & Champs), this website specializes primarily in the Gas Stocker Championship of Oswego, County, NY - which races 5hp gas stocker karts at Galletta's Greenhouse and Oswego Kartway all Summer. DVD is 2 hours and 20 minutes and is only $6. This race has two different angles on two discs. Here is more from the 7/10/2008 show:
Matt Stevens (Galletta's #33) and Chris Stevens (Galletta's #8) both used slingshot maneuvers to pass each other a couple of times, before Matt snipped Chris by inches at the line for the heat win. They were followed by the heat and was followed by Ken Lindsley Jr. (Galletta's #6), Russ Hockey (Hockey #00), and Kenny Lindsley III (Galletta's #1). Wes Stevens (Galletta's #4) led early, but did not finish the race due to a malfunctioning kill switch which was repaired in time for the feature.
Wes Stevens (Galletta's #4) led the vast majority of the show by holding off his son Chris in an exhibition of clean and respectful racing. Matt Stevens (Galletta's #33) had to make his way back up through the field after Russ Hockey (Hockey #00) spun into him, to the delight of a few classless individuals in the crowd. However, it was Chris Stevens (Galletta's #8) who got under his father when Ogre's Galletta's #4 drifted a bit too high. They were followed by Matt (in his Galletta's #33) and Ken Lindsley Jr. (Galletta's #6). Russ Hockey (Hockey #00) and Kenny Lindsley III (Galletta's #1) tied for the final position. We will need renters and/or visiting 5hp karts to join us in order to race at Oswego, so please contact us. Though we have our own motors now, we still need regular drivers to fill the karts. On the 7/4/2008 race, we had FIVE Galletta's karts with competitive motors sitting idle in the heat and SIX sitting idle in the feature (two with special race cam handicap motors for heavier drivers over 200 lbs. and went unused). With all those racers and race fans in attendance, and only a $5 price tag for using them, it is hard to believe nobody wanted to drive them. If anybody is interested in filling a kart on Thursdays at Oswego or Sundays at Galletta's, contact us. You will not ever get the opportunity to sit in a racing vehicle of any type and be given a competitive car for a more affordable price than a Galletta's 5hp race.

Want to join us? We invite drivers (either people to rent our karts and/or with their own 5hp karts) to join us and race at Oswego and Galletta's. We have our own motor class at Oswego now, but still need regular drivers to fill the karts. If anybody is interested in filling a kart on Thursdays at Oswego ($5 to rent for 10 lap heats and at least a 25 lap feature plus Oswego track entrance fees) or Sundays at Galletta's ($20 for a 10 lap heat and at least 45-lap feature), just contact us. At Galletta's, it is free to bring your own kart (though we accept $3-5 clay donations). You will not ever get the opportunity to sit in a racing vehicle of any type and be given a competitive car for a more affordable price than a Galletta's 5hp race.
The Galletta's Go-Karting Club was founded by brothers Matt and Chris Stevens in the early 1990s when they modified yard karts for racing purposes. They are the inventors of "clockwise 5hp flathead gas stocker kart" racing, and have a 13-kart race team that includes several backup karts available to be rented and raced at both Galletta's and Oswego Speedway all summer. Invented with specifically "gas stock 5hp motor" rules so that a person doesn't have to spend thousands of dollars to race in extremely competitive racing events, the class grows in talent and competition every single year. Join us by building your own kart for around $500 or rent one of our team karts on Summer Thursdays or Summer Sundays in Oswego, NY!
The Oswego Gas Stocker Kart Club races at Galletta's Greenhouse Kartway & Oswego Speedway Kartway.
Due to the fact that the karts are so affordable and the oldest veterans have been racing for nearly two decades, it is one of the most difficult karting divisions to win at. You can't outspend your opponent due to our gas-powered stock-only rule, so you must out-race them and out-setup them. In fact, nobody has ever defeated Matt & Chris in the open challenge: race a stock 5hp flathead and stop them from scoring 1st & 2nd in a points season. Though hundreds of people have tried in hundreds of races since the early 1990s, Chris and Matt have scored 1 & 2 every year.
