Galletta's 2007 Race #12 : 8/19/2007 45-Lapper:
On Sunday, August 19th, 2007, Kyle Reuter wins a competitive 15-kart, 45-Lap feature, this time in the Galletta's #5. Chris Stevens was 2nd, and Matt Stevens was 3rd. Ken Lindsey Sr., Missy Berry, and Chris Stevens won the three heats. All in all a great race. Here are pics, video clips, and the updated points!
2007 Volume #12 DVD:
Contains the August 12th, 2007 races from Oswego Speedway, and the August 19th, 2007 races at Galletta's. 1 hour & 54 minutes.Below is a preview of this DVD's contents:
All below pictures and video clips are low-resolution captures from the DVDs. Each DVD shows the full weekend of from Oswego and Galletta's (often with 2 camera angles per race) in widescreen format (looks great on 16X9 TVs). Each is around 2 hours (sometimes more) and only $3 each. If you want to copy for other karters, then an additional $1 (DVD sales fund this website and weekly DVDs, so thank you for buying!)
Heat 1 was a rookie-only race. Ken Lindsey Sr. won (though he was warned for passing before the green - you cannot pass until you hit the straight, and next time anybody does it, they will be scored in last place), and he was followed by Buddy Cottom, Ran Coleman, Chris Kent, and Kenny Lindsey Jr.. These guys have been racing here for the last 3 weeks an are starting to outgrow the rookie status (You outgrow it when you stay out of accidents, and every week they are getting better).
Heat 2 was won by Missy Berry! Considering that she held off fast guns Dick Dann, Matt Stevens, Wes Stevens, and Nick Dann, that is quite an accomplishment! Great job, Missy!
Heat 3 was won by announcer/DVD Producer/webmaster Chris Stevens, who went from last to 1st in 1 lap (Wahoo!)! He was followed by Mike MC Howell, Oscar Berry, and Melissa Gabel. Kyle Reuter was also scheduled to run this heat, but he was in the championship round of a basketball tournament and couldn't make it in time. He made it in time for the feature, though!
The 15-kart Feature started off with a bang. Missy Berry led the 1st 8 laps from her pole position, but spun out with Tricky Nicky Dann. This caused a pileup that took out of the top five or so competitors, and sent Ogre flying! Here's a clip:

Chris ChrusherComix Stevens took the lead by evading the pileup and was controlling the event from laps 9-18, when he hit the same pothole that broke his kart last weekend and it almost sent him off the track. This time, however, it wasn't Matt, but Kyle Reuter who took advantage in Chris's own Galletta's #5! Kyle pulled away as Chris had to deal with battling Matt and Wesley Ogre Stevens, as they were both after him. Matt even came back from an accident where Ken Lindsey Sr. and Ogre pushed him from behind. Matt still charged back for 3rd before the race was done, but Chris again held him off and Kyle couldn't be caught tonight. He takes his 2nd Feature of 2007 and 3rd of his young career in the Galletta's Racing Club! Now here is the...Galletta's 8/19/2007 45-Lapper - Final Order Of Finish:

Galletta's @ Oswego Speedway's Dirt Oval : 8/16/2007:
On August 16th, 2007, members of the Galletta's Karting Club raced in Oswego Speedway's Dirt Oval in the Clockwise Gas Stocker (formerly Super Yard Kart) division. Above photo by Xtreme.
Kyle Reuter won the heat after a few drivers thought the caution was out and he went from 5th to 1st. The Feature was won by Matt Stevens in the Galletta's #33, and he was followed by Mike "MC" Howell in the Galletta's #6, Joe Hayden in the OHV #5, Eric Raponi in the OHV #83, Kenny Lindsey in the Galletta's #2, and Kyle Reuter in the Galletta's #0 after he dropped out while running 3rd. Shadoe Russell was black-flagged and finished last in the Galletta's #7.
Matt wins again! He has won more races on both Galletta's and Oswego Speedway's Dirt Tracks than the other fifty+ Oswego-area dirt Go-Kart drivers ... COMBINED. He is the class of Oswego Yard Kart/Go-Kart races. Can he be stopped?! Anything can happen, but the odds are not too %@$%^&* likely! The next Oswego Yard Kart race is Thursday, August 23rd, 2007 behind the back grandstand at Oswego Speedway, a final tune-up before the Thursday, August 30th Oswego Speedway Classic Weekend Dirt Oval show. All of the details are found here on this message board thread. In short: For our "Racing Yard kart division" at Oswego, the rules are: (1) Gas only, (2) Racing slicks, (3) No more than 8 horsepower motor. The awards for all classes will be: 1st Place - A pass to the International Classic Weekend and a big trophy. 2nd Place -Friday Pass to the ISMA nationals, and a trophy. 3rd Place -Saturday Pass to the Modified 125, and a trophy.Xtreme Photos: Enjoy these low-resolution in-action shots of this race from Xtreme Photos. AUGUST 14-15th UPDATE: Oscar Berry, one of our most regular members of the Galletta's Go-Karts Racing Club, suffered what was initially diagnosed as a mild heart attack and had surgery yesterday. Apparently, everything checked out well and it was just acid reflux, his heart appears to be fine. Oswego Speedway Dirt Track operator Jim Losurdo also had a mild heart attack the following week, and we also hope he is recovering nicely as well. Our prayers, thoughts, and well-wishes are all with them, and we hope they both will make a speedy recovery. God bless.
