Welcome! We are a Karting Club that invented and races extremely affordable 5hp flathead, Single Wheel Drive "Gas stocker" karts for a Points championship every summer at Galletta's Greenhouse Karting Speedway and a traveling points show at other local area tracks. Hybrid between a yard kart and a WKA kart and built to race anywhere - the cheapest competitive karting series in the world!  We also have recorded weekly dirt karting classes in the Oswego area and make them available on DVD! Though we're in our off-season (we race from June through October), enjoy the site below.

GALLETTA'S GO-KARTING CLUB & SPEEDWAY'S
1998-2008 ALL-STAR DRIVER LINEUP:
In the first ten years of having anywhere between five to sixteen 1-WD 5hp Gas Stocker Go-Karts on track having hundreds of Galletta Karting Club races on two Oswego area raceways, we have had hundreds of competitors behind the wheel proving their stuff scoring points and wins. This list shows the cream of the crop, and if we could ever get all of these guys on the track for a race - maybe an "Anniversary Klassic" - you would be hard pressed to find any division with this much racing experience and talent in any small engine motorsport racing class in the area. The list was decided by multiple standards: total feature wins, feature win percentage, total points, points-per-race percentage, track championships, visitor point champions, rookie-of-the-year awards, amount of races run, and must have used a 5hp flathead gas stocker motor. Win percentage is probably the best rating, as points-per-race changes race to race (laps and competitors) but win percentage rarely does. List compiled by the co-founder, racer, stat-man, and webmaster for the Galletta's Karting Association, Chris Stevens. We'd love to put other drivers on the list from our all-time points and wins lists--there were a couple of really tough cuts that I'd want on here--but they would need more races under their belts and at least one or two feature wins to secure a spot. All-time/All-Star track volunteer/helpers include flaggers Mike "MC" Howell, and The Berry family, and flaggers/track helpers Ken Pitsley and Co..

And, in closing, this is a list of top-notch, underrated drivers who've been maligned by a needlessly arrogant few. This isn't one to eight $3,000-$5,000 pre-fabricated cookie-cutter karts on a track racing ten or twenty laps on a little track cherry-picking wins and padding stats with motors they bought down south for $1,000 while talking trash acting elitist about what is and what isn't a "real" go-kart or speedway while using a track funded by wealthy businessmen and representing them poorly by discriminating against people with less expensive class of karts or booting out and mocking law-abiding and paying customers. Nope. This is eight to sixteen home-made custom-creation $500-$700 equalized karts on a track racing for forty to two-hundred laps on a big backyard track for fun. No elitist class-ism here, and no booting good, law-abiding drivers out! All friends and family, no cheaters, no rough-riders, no fights, plenty of helping your toughest competitor, no outspending someone or hiding top-secret parts to beat them, but all fun - 100% real and clean racing! If you have a problem with that, then try racing us and see how good our drivers are, or just go on your merry way pretending! Thanks and enjoy! ;-)

Want to race in a weekly karting series but can't afford it? Now you can. We are a homemade and inexpensive alternative to the costly WKA-type karting series. Literally a grass roots karting league invented in the early 1990s essentially as a "Racing Yard Kart" or "Super Yard Karting" carting league, and running collectively hundreds of drivers in hundreds of races on two tracks every Summer-through-Fall in Central NY. Not quite a yard kart (not built for racing) and not quite WKA-type racing (very expensive to start let alone compete to win at), we are filling the need for a truly affordable racing league  filled with talented competitors for anybody to be able to afford to not only join, but also win at! Points standings, DVDs of every lap, and online descriptions after every race. Join us racing by either building your own or give it a try by borrowing one of our team backup karts for just gas & parts money! Our karts are not only cheaper than WKA/NKA karts, but also cheaper than "Clone/Box Stock" karts, as the entire class uses "used" 5hp flathead motors, mostly used or homemade frames, ban high-priced racing parts and limit most racing modifications to only those that are bottom-line affordable. No "rich" engine builders sweeping every event, no secrets kept from one another - all friends and families racing and having FUN! No fighting and no whining about the rules or rough riders! Clean , affordable racing. Build a kart for a few hundred bucks. Race all season for maybe $10-30 a week. Acquire speeds comparable to karts that cost three to ten times as much.
