PRICES: Galletta's Kart Club is a free, not-for-profit, backyard racetrack. We operate as a weekly point series raceway (Summer Sundays) only on nominal, bare-bones donations. For a regular-season race:
Spectator = Free. Donations welcome. Race your own kart = $3-5 donation to Matt. Race a Galletta's Kart = Veteran: $10-12 donation. Rookie: $15-20 donation. (Why? Rookies wreck more and race TWO features if they qualify!) A copy of your own race's DVD = $5 per DVD. Each DVD contains the entire evening of racing from up to two camera angles (and sometimes more!).
These are not fees. The nominal Donations cover the gas and parts for 12 equalized Galletta-type racing karts, in addition to electricity for lights, water, and none of the above ever cover a tip for Matt's work for the track. Matt prepares 12 racing karts out of his own wallet every single year, always in the red, and the donations never once have covered gas and parts.

Galletta Memorial Karting Speedway. The racing, again, is just so
close that passes are rare and starting handicapped up front is
vital for your chances. Only aon a "real" track with honest
and fair competition does this happen. Otherwise, you have one or

and Timothy Galletta became the 1st 2-feature winner of
the season (but first in his Sid Harvey's #54 kart) when he took Feature
#1. The 2nd 30-Lapper went top the man who led most of the 1st feature
until he broke - Hard As F*** Randy "Bobandi" Platt
(in the Galletta's Greenhouse #2 kart), fighting off a furious last-lap
in-traffic challenge from Matt Stevens. Randy's own kart
was completed in time for the race, but due to an inability to work
out the handling bugs, he just put his motor back on the Galletta's
#2 and rode it to it's 1st victory of the year. Points, results, pictures

2010 Season, Event #12- Tuesday,
August 24th, 2010- Sunday and Monday got rained out,
so an almost perfect track awaited us on Tuesday for a 55-Lap Feature
Event. This one was dominated by 2009 defending Track Champion Chris
Stevens in the Galletta's Greenhouse #4 kart,
his 1st feature win since last summer at Galletta's Greenhouse
Speedway. His lovely wife Rungnapha, and cat Carlee posed with the
handsome, talented, ingenious and powerful triumphant expert victor
(also the webmaster, haha!). Details/points

2010
Season, Event #13- Sunday, August 29th, 2010 - Shadoe
Russell led 43 laps right out of the gate Sunday, most of them by
a rather large margin. However, there were 45 laps to be scored,
and after a late-race restart with a lap to go, Matt Stevens
pulled the Galletta's Greenhouse #3 kart outside of Doe's #26 and
was able to steal a near-perfect race away from the impressive Doe-Boi-Fresh.
Plus, a wild ride when last week's winner Chris Stevens caught AJ
Nason's wheel, went airborne and then blew through a freaking tire-wall!
Awesome! Plus, startling revelations occurred in the post-race footage!
Details,
points & pics up/vids forthcoming.
2010 Season, Event #14- Sunday,
September 5th, 2010- Pre-Classic Twin-30s Night:
Arnold "AJ" Nason picked up his 1st feature
win at Galletta's in the Hammerd/Nason #35, while the 2nd feature
went to Tim Galletta in the Sid Harvey/Galletta #54.
Both karts were formerly owned and driven by father-and-son team
of Dick & Nick Dann, who could not accomplish this feat in their
tenure of drivers (albeit with Galletta's rebuilds and one new motor).
Shadoe Russell, unfortunately, has had around 69 lead laps in the
past two weeks, but has come up short twice via late-race restarts.
This race was originally scheduled for Monday because of Sunday
being the Oswego Speedway's International Classic 200, but since
that was re-scheduled to Monday due to rain, Sunday became our race
date, just
like back in 2006! Confusing, I know, but it's how we roll,
son.
2010 Season, Event #15- Sunday,
September 12th, 2010- Despite the passing of last
Labor Day Weekend, racing is not done by a long shot, son. Randy
"The Bodacious Bobandi" Platt, lookin' all hard
n' $#!t, scored a dominant victory in his Murder #187 kart, which
he has worked tirelessly on with Matty-Joey Stevens for a few months
for this moment of glory (no holes included, you twisted sickos).

2010 Season, Event #16-
Saturday, September 18th, 2010 - 9-karts strong, a tight,
close, clean, bumper-to-bumper 45-lap feature was won by George
Russell when he passed his son Shadoe for the lead early on
and held of advances from Jeff Tetro and Melissa Stevens. Although
it his 2nd career feature win in the Galletta's Greenhouse #6 kart,
it is the 1st with his new Matt Stevens built motor. Points

2010 Season, Event #17 -
Friday, September 24th, 2010 - We knew one of these days
it was going to happen due to his progression from his shaky rookie
campaign, and it finally did - Shadoe Russell led all
45 laps from his pole starting position en route to his 1st career
feature win in his Rubbin' Is Racin' #26! Another tight, close, clean,
bumper-to-bumper 45-lap feature with 9 drivers was likely the regular
season finale, as the 2010 Points Champion shall be decided in this
upcoming weekend's 15th Annual Galletta's Karting Klassic 200-Lap
Championship -- the largest and longest-running kart race in the
known area -- which determines the overall ironman karting champion
of Oswego County. If you race one kart race all year, make it this
one. Points

THE 15TH ANNUAL GALLETTA'S KARTING KLASSIC 200:
[YouTube Video Forthcoming...]
2010
Season, Event #18 - Saturday,
October 2nd, 2010- A 14-competitor 200-lapper
was in store for the 15th Annual Galletta's Karting Klassic
200-Lap Championship, which also doubles as the season Points
Finale (points will be tallied during the week) and again did
not disappoint as a close, competitive, fiery race with a lot
of drama. At the end, however, it was the intrepid- Kyle
Reuter, racing his 1st Feature at Galletta's since the
2007 Klassic, emerged from the marathon race on top in the Galletta's
Greenhouse #0 kart. He became 1st visiting driver to ever win
a Galletta's
Go-Kart Klassic (Matt Stevens won 10, Chris won 3, and Wes
won 1)! Point-leaders Chris and Matt -- while running
2nd and 3rd late -- tangled together and had to go to
the rear, and then-leader Gary Miller Sr. started slowing down,
which led Kyle - who did lead over 100 laps early before having
to change karts due to a sputtering motor - to take the lead
late and not look back. There were many battles and tremendous
racing from 1st lap to last. Everyone at Galletta's would like
to thank everyone who was at the cookout and all of the drivers,
and also congratulate Kyle on a great race. Pics,
points and and descriptions up, & videos within
the next few weeks as I get caught up.
Now, after the Galletta's 200-Lap
Klassic Championship, the undisputedly largest, most economical
and longest-running Karting Class in Central NY's annual point
series for the 2010 Galletta's Greenhouse Karting Season is
now finalized, and this one was the closest in history!:

Every Fall,

Features on October 10th, 2010. Pictures are up, points up soon

Want to race karts for a World Championship
spending only little more than just gas money? Or just watch a race
for free? Now you can. At Galletta's Backyard Karting Speedway -
a free-of-charge 0.14 mile dirt oval with 20-degree banked turns
- we hold the World Championship
of 1-WD Gas Flathead Karting. In the 1990s, we formed a league of
highly affordable, and simply made karts with stock gas motors as
an answer to big money karting. What we got is all the excitement
of racing professionally AND got to keep our money too! We
made an elaborate website that contains details, statistics, pictures
and often videos to every race held in the last fifteen+ years.
Chock full of info, read more below. Here is our race day countdown
and join our Facebook fan page and group for updates and social networking with
racers, friends, and family of the Galletta's Karting Club:
You can race fast and highly economical 1-WD
karts in 45-60-lap weekly races for a points championship all Summer,
be in our All-Time
Points & Wins Series, and then take a shot and enter
our 15th Annual
200-Lap Marathon "Klassic" Championship Race held
every Fall - The race that has decided the overall champion of Oswego
Dirt Karting since 1996! You can also race with some of the winningest
and most experienced karters in the local area - some of whom have
raced in all sorts of racing classes and race here because we have
the best bang for the buck. Plus, you can choose to either race
"Arrive-and-drive" Galletta's Team Karts for gas-and-parts
money, or build your own for just a few hundred dollars. Our
facebook
group is where we post updates, so if you are on there, join
up! We have arrive-and-drive, competitive "race-ready"
karts that have all won features available to race. Rookie/Novice
races for beginners. Veteran races for the experienced pros. One
class (the biggest in the area for over 10 years now), horsepower-to-weight
handicap ratio. Inverted wins and points-per-race handicapped starts.
We can also help you build your own competitive kart for far less
money than other forms of karting. Why? Because it is a private
backyard track with friends and family having fun putting on a friendly
race, avoiding the typical organized kart track BS with big money
spenders, politics and people just using karting as a footstool
to get into a big track. This is just pure, fair, fun, clean racing.
Want to see what a season is like?
Galletta's
Go-Kart Backyard Speedway is a 0.133887 mile dirt oval with 20-degree
banked turns. It is located behind Galletta's Greenhouse in Oswego,
NY, and can be seenfrom outer
space! The single-wheel-drive gasoline-fueled flathead motor karts take
the track between 15-17 seconds per lap which averages over 30 mph (approximately
45-50 mph top speed in the straights). Our speeds are comparable to
alcohol/methanol-fueled karts that cost 8 times as much because
we use mostly stock parts and gas on a large track; leading to more
karts, more competition, and more fun. Our class is usually the largest
and most competitive in the area. Thanks to Google Earth for this Spring

Every year in mid-September since 1996, we host a HUGE Galletta's Go-Kart Klassic Championship race, which is now at 200 laps (and averages 10-15 karts). Judging by our track size and year started, the Galletta's Klassic is the longest single-tank karting feature event in the world, and the longest-running and most prestigious of the local area. All local karters worth anything either have run it or flat out fear it. This ain't no Kiddie Kart Track BS. This is IronMan Adult Warhorse Karting at it's finest. Proclaimed the "Street Cred" of Karting... enter it to see what kind of a driver you really are.
